About the Inquirer
Phoenix, Arizona
The Arizona Inquirer is an independent investigative publication covering Arizona politics, public safety and the people who hold power here. It is written and published by Pesach Lattin from Phoenix.
The method is simple. We quote what officials and organizations say about themselves, then we check it against filings, records, recordings and the people who were in the room. When the two don't match, that's the story.
Pesach Lattin started his career as an investigator, including work on the U.S. Secret Service-led New York Electronic Crimes Task Force. He also publishes ADOTAT, an investigative publication covering the advertising technology industry.
01
Public records requests, court filings, corporate and nonprofit registrations, and recordings come before anyone's characterization of them.
02
People and organizations we name are contacted before publication wherever practicable. Their response runs in the story, or we say they declined or didn't answer.
03
Every investigation ends with a short note on method, what we could not verify, and any disclosures. Estimates are labeled as estimates.
Readers. The Inquirer is reader-supported and runs no paid placement in editorial. No subject of a story gets to review it before publication, and no sponsor gets a say in what we cover. If that ever changes for a specific piece, the piece will say so at the top.
Pesach Lattin is also principal of ANIA, a privately held, independent intelligence firm. ANIA is not a government agency and does not act under government authority. When ANIA work touches a story, the story says so.
Story-specific relationships, past business dealings and conflicts are disclosed in the note at the end of each piece.
